Use of Camera Recordings for Mutual Position Refinement of a Vehicle and a Pedestrian

In the article, the approach to determining the position of the pedestrian in relation to the camera using the elements of the environment is shown on a case study, and the results are compared with the incorrect procedure, which is additionally influenced by the manual cropping of the frames from the camera recording, which practically spoiled their information value. An on-site experiment was used to determine the pedestrian’s position, followed by photogrammetry. Furthermore, are shown methods of the first expert while evaluating the on-board camera recording and which led to his incorrect results.
