The subject of this paper is to present modern methods that can be used to conduct traffic surveys in urban public transport and experiences with their use. It is a contribution to the methodology of expert witness work in the field of transport, road transport sector, specialization of public transport traffic assessment. Until recently, these surveys have been done by so-called “crossing”, i.e. with the help of counters and recording sheets. This method is still used today as a backup in case of failure of modern technologies. Amobile application and web interface have been developed at the Transport Research Centre (CDV) to automate these surveys, saving time and increasing the efficiency of fieldwork.
